Waitangi Orienteering Weekend 2023

Waitangi weekend 2023 (Sat 4th Feb - Mon 6th Feb) features a variety of sprint and terrain races close to Christchurch.

Entries:

Pre-entry is required for the Waitangi Weekend 2023 events.

Standard price entries close Monday 23rd Jan 2023, late entries close Wednesday 1st Feb 2023.

If you need to change grade or SI number after you have entered, or make a start time request, please use this form: Waitangi 2023 change request. Please request all changes prior to the standard entry closing date of 23rd Jan 2023.

Event Fees:

Standard event fees

These are available to members of any orienteering club in the world.
These fees are available until Monday 23rd Jan 2023.

All event fees are in NZ dollars and include GST.
Non-Members: additional $10 Senior/$5 Junior per race.
* Family maximum for 2 Seniors and any number of Juniors normally resident at the same address.
For team entries, please create an individual entry for each team member. 
SI hire: Regular SI cards $3 per race, SIAC cards $6 per race.

Late entries:

For entries on/after Tuesday 24th Jan, a 50% late entry surcharge is applied. Late entries will be allocated a start time at the beginning of the start list, prior to all standard entries.
Final date for entry is Wednesday 1st Feb 2023, no entries will be accepted after this date.

Payments:

Payment is by credit card only. Credit card payments will be taken as part of the entry process. 

Refund Policy: 

• Refund of 90% of fees paid for withdrawals prior to standard entry fee close date (Mon 23rd Jan 2023).
• Refund of 75% of fees paid  for withdrawals after standard entry fee date and before late entry close date (Wed 1st Feb 2023).
• No refund after Late entry close date.
• Refunds will be processed after the event.

Start times:

Start times will be allocated and published prior to the events.
For start time requests (e.g. split starts for parents), please use this form: Waitangi 2023 change request. All start time requests should be entered prior to standard entry closing date of 23rd Jan 2023.

Punching system

The SportIdent (SI) punching system will be used in all events with Si Air+ enabled. Both SI cards will be available for hire: regular cards at $3 per event, SIAC cards $6 per event.

Grades:

Elite grades:

M21E/W21E for seniors and M20E/W20E for juniors. Note that the juniors and seniors will be on the same course (M21E/M20E on same course; W21E/W20E on same course).
The knockout sprint, will have a Elite Women race for both W21E/W20E and an Elite Men race for both M21E/M20E.
The sprint relay has mixed teams (2 female, 2 male) made up from all elite grades.
