Here's your AGM invite & vote for your PAPO event of the year

26 July 2019

You’re invited to  PAPO gathering (oh OK it doubles as a club meeting)  from 7-9pm on Monday 19 August in the Sydenham Room at South Library.

Listen to the PAPO JWOC Experience! PAPO is proud to have fielded half of the 12-member team that competed at the NZ Junior World Orienteering Competition this year in Denmark. Find out what the Danish terrain was like and the pressure of high level competition.

PAPO Annual General Meeting - Find out how we did in 2018-19 and where we're heading next.  For example, we're awesome at large-scale events like the Nationals. We all have you all to thank for the impressive event we had around Oamaru for Nationals this Easter. PAPO managed to deliver a smooth operation and seriously challenging event, especially going beyond all expectations with the number of attendees.
We're also pleased to say we have a large core of club orienteers and their families head off to do serious competitions overseas and represent NZ. This is when we are on the lookout for local people who embrace the challenge of orienteering and enjoy getting stuck in. That time is right now as we are a small but dedicated sport when it comes to orienteering.
Our main aim is to focus on giving more people a chance to participate in the sport - so let’s work together. The AGM is our chance to network, chat, and say hello face-to-face to others who share this crazy map sport. After all, there aren’t many times we get together out of the lycra and stay inside away from the elements. We’ll bring some seriously old programmes from past events for you to get nostalgic about past times. And you might even get some free cake and a cuppa to eat as you listen to some epic navigational mistake stories that always circulate.

Vote for your best PAPO event of the year by Friday 16 August 2019, so we can announce it on AGM night. Please fill -in the survey here
